South of the state of Zacatecas, in the valleys that extend beneath the Sierra Madre Occidental, the magical town of Teúl Gonzalez Ortega, a population that retains its colonial buildings of lies eighteenth and nineteenth centuries but whose origin is much older. The Teúl was a religious center for pre-Hispanic settlers, most likely caxcanes who inhabited this region before the Spanish conquest.Teúl name has several meanings but emphasizes God or Abode of the Gods.
