Loreto is the oldest town of the Baja California peninsula, protected by the Sierra La Giganta and the Sea of Cortez. Its landscape denotes the colors are degraded and combined between the blue and green of the islands and the sea. The story goes that the Jesuit priest Juan Maria de Salvatierra, was the founder of the first Mission in the South of the peninsula to the which he called "Our Lady of Loreto" in October 1697. Loreto was the starting point to colonize the peninsula of Baja California.

A tour of the Sierra la Giganta, is exceptional, the Mission of San Javier, founded in 1699 and of course watching the gray whale, which can reach in just 90 minutes from Loreto to place car. The islands offer a little something for everyone, including Isla del Carmen, with wonderful beaches; the Danzante Island with cliffs that favor diving and Isla Catalana ideal for environmentalists who like to admire the unique flora and fauna. Loreto is an excellent place for sport fishing, where you can catch mahi mahi, wahoo, tuna gold and others. If you prefer golf, the town has a perfect infrastructure, a professional and modern golf course with 18 holes, located in the tourist corridor Loreto-Nopolo. There are also magnificent facilities that favor the practice of tennis, considered the best in Mexico.
