Loreto is the oldest town of the Baja California peninsula, protected by the Sierra La Giganta and the Sea of Cortez. Its landscape denotes the colors are degraded and combined between the blue and green of the islands and the sea. The story goes that the Jesuit priest Juan Maria de Salvatierra, was the founder of the first Mission in the South of the peninsula to the which he called "Our Lady of Loreto" in October 1697. Loreto was the starting point to colonize the peninsula of Baja California.
