The name of this beach originates from a rock that is 300 meters from the beach, the white stems of guano thrown away hundreds of tropical birds, which use it as habitat. Pelicans, cormorants, gulls and a variety of birds found in this rock shelter one narural protected by strong waves breaking on its edges and on the main beach. The beach has aproxomadamente 6 km. It is long and strong waves. However, the western part forms a small bay where the lagoon empties "Lagartero". The surf in this part is softer, so it is quite visited by local tourism, mainly from the town of Rio Grande, Sunday to Sunday, they gather in this place for lunch in the palapa restaurants that are available. Currently , are operating six palapas offering fresh seafood at a fairly reasonable price. From these data, as anecdótico- restaurants, one of them, "Los Almendros", was used for the final scenes of the Mexican film (one of the hottest , by the way), "Y Tu Mama Tambien." The palapas have health service and a well of brackish water. There is also a hosting service cabins.

Rocablanca is located 35 km from Puerto Escondido on the road to Pinotepa Nacional.
