La Cruz de Huanacaxtle owes its name to a tree-shaped Huanacaxtle Cruz at the village entrance. The local legend says that after the body of an indigenous woman was buried at the base of a giant tree of Huanacaxtle; in tribute to her, a large cross was carved in the trunk of the tree, and people began to say, "We will meet in the cross of Huanacaxtle." It's a small town north of Puerto Vallarta who settled in the 30's. "The Cross" is a small fishing village with protected yachts and boats anchor. It has tourist dock. It is distinguished by its splendid and lush vegetation. The beach is surf and gentle slope. . Its fine white sand, clean and transparent waters you can settle on lodging, savor seafood dishes typical of the region; enjoy nature, play sports on the sand, enjoy the sunset at the seashore, swim in the crystal clear water, go fishing, take a boat ride, walk through the picturesque streets of this town and biking, in the company of your family.
