Puerto Vallarta is connected to the rest of the Mexican territory by the Guadalajara-Compostela-Vallarta Highway (reaches Manzanillo) and Guadalajara-Autlan-Vallarta route; both in good condition.

By Air:

By air, modern Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, 6 km north of Puerto Vallarta, is the main access to this tourist paradise. In the high season the traffic is 450 weekly flights, between domestic and foreign, especially US cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Fort Worth and Denver. From the airport of Puerto Vallarta, and Marina Square simply stroll tomae side to the beach; Boca de Tomates is between the Marina and the airport.

By Sea:

For much of the year luxury cruise ships from around the world and private planes, reach the shores of Vallarta. The city offers all the facilities to the ships and tourists who dock at the marina for 400 boats.
