This beach, located in front of Caleta and Caletilla, is on Roqueta Island. To get there, you can take a boat glass bottom that leads one in a very attractive and interesting tour, and you can see beautiful colorful fish, marine plants and the patron saint of fishermen is in the background. sea The island has a zoo; the beach is quiet, perfect for sunbathing while enjoying the beautiful view and fuits drink or an exquisite fried fish of little restaurants that serve on the beach. On the island there is also a zoo where there are different types of animals. You can see tigers, crocodiles, lions, turtles, monkeys, giraffes, deer and many more.
Besides the zoo there is a large population of iguanas and tropical animals on the island, none of them are dangerous to humans. The tropical island ecosystem provides lush vegetation, mainly palm trees, lemon trees, almond trees and several small trees like Tamarindo and Chaya. Please remember that you are not allowed to interfere with wildlife (not allowed to cut any plant or flower vegetation or animals or take with you).
At the top of the small hill from the center of the island, is a lighthouse that can be visited. It offers an extraordinary view of the Acapulco Bay and Jungle Island. We also suggest enjoy a tour of snorkeling or diving around the island to admire the rich underwater life. Roqueta island has small restaurants and souvenir shops near the pier.
Must Know
From outside the waterpark from Caleta y Caletilla, small boats ply the channel to the islet of La Roqueta, where there are more and yet cleaner beaches (you can rent a picnic table) and beer-drinking burros, one of the town’s less compelling attractions. Catch one of the frequent glass-bottomed boats to the island (daily 8am–5pm) and keep your ticket for the return journey; it can be a direct launch or for one that detours past the submerged bronze statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe. You can rent snorkelling gear you’ll see the most fish and coral, kayaks and small boats (motor, sail and pedal) by the hour.
Get There
Roqueta is located in front of Caleta and Caletilla beach, near the center of Acapulco. It can be reached only by boat. The pier is in Caleta beach and the boats leave every 45 minutes throughout the day.
By Road:
Acapulco is connected by road to Mexico City. The distance between the two points is greater than 320 kilometers. The trip takes 3 hours, approximately, if performed by the highway. The route is covered by a number of buses that offer luxury and cheap. Acapulco has three bus stations, the arriving units from major cities in central, north and south.
By air:
Take a flight to Acapulco that has a modern international airport, equipped with all the necessary infrastructure to serve the thousands of travelers arriving these lands, from major cities in the country and abroad. The flight from Mexico City to Juan N. Alvarez Acapulco International Airport, 35 minutes or so.
By sea:
You can arrive by boat from across the Pacific Ocean. The most common is to Acapulco cruise.
