Boca de Pascuales is a wide beach where the mouth of the river Armeria is contemplated. It overlooks the open sea, its blue waters are deep, and so it is conducive to the practice of surfing; in fact, in this place several sport tournaments are held annually.

This beach is the typical and traditional site for visitors to the region of Tecoman, famous for its woven bowers palapas roofs and floors of fine gray sand, you can buy soft drinks and seafood of excellent quality and freshness, as Colima ceviche style or traditional seafood soup with fish, shrimp, crab and octopus seasoned with spices.

The shrimp are the specialty and provide visitors with garlic, butter, breaded and the devil. Along the beach you can buy all kinds of marine, such as earrings and necklaces of shells and snails crafts, plus marine animals carved in fine wood, which are perfect souvenirs of the beach, offered by the artisans themselves.

Just five minutes from Playa Pascuales is the city of Tecoman, with its skyline waving palm trees, welcoming you to the valley with the same name. The tour is fascinating, because in your eyes a green concert reveals, among groves of lemon, banana and mango. The city offers hotels, restaurants, bars, parks, gardens, shopping areas and in the center, you will see the Temple of Candelaria, patron saint of the place, where every year, on February 2, people celebrate with expressions of art and culture of this productive agricultural valley.

Throughout the city you will find places where the tuba or the refreshing coconut water is sold, plus snacks and sweets of Colima region. As one beach to open sea waves is strong, so it is advisable to observe the flags that are placed along the beaches for the safety of visitors, with the following meanings: red, danger, yellow, white absolute caution and confidence to swim.
Must Know
A beach renowned for huge waves and challenging surf; this is a river-mouth beach break with some of the nastiest and fastest tubes in Mexico (breaking right and left) – it’s definitely not for the inexperienced. Even swimming can be dangerous, but otherwise it’s a fine place to hang out for a few days.

Beach camping is an attractive proposition here, but there are a couple of surfer-friendly lodges.

Boca de Pascuales is located 20 km from Tecoman and 44 of the city of Colima.

By Road:

Leaving the city of Colima Take Highway no. 54 toward the coast. Walk 44 km from the federal highway. 200 up to Tecoman, there find the diversion to Boca Pascuales. By road from Mexico City to Colima there is a distance of 748 km, which is covered in 9 hours.

To reach Boca de Pascuales by bus, you’ll first need to take a direct bus from Manzanillo to Tecomán, 20km south of Armería. Minibuses run to Boca from Tecomán’s bus station (7am–8pm hourly). Then take one Taxi. Buses also run from Tecomán to Colima and Lázaro Cárdenas.

By air:

Take a flight to the city of Colima then take Highway 54 toward the coast. Walk 44 km from the federal highway.200 up to Tecoman, there you will find the diversion to Boca Pascuales.
