This site is named after the fire and sinking of the American ship "Golden Gate", which occurred in 1862, when he sailed southward from San Francisco. This boat carrying five hundred passengers and a cargo of gold. States that currently have still found in the wreckage beach the ship and part of the treasure. This beach is about 12 km long, whose sands are a shade light brown, mixed with small shells and snails, where get warm waters are home to smaller crustaceans and marine species. In Manzanillo it organizes the "Regata Mexorc", which is a ocean sailing circuit which is held every two years; but also in that range it is developed the "Race San Diego-Manzanillo" in February every two years.
