Barra Zacapulco mainly characterized by large areas of natural mangrove estuaries and open sea, besides being within the Biosphere Reserve La Encrucijada, you can make visits throughout the year. This evergreen mangrove area reaching up to 35 meters. High, considered the highest in the Mexican Pacific. Flora can observe large and complex forests of mangrove, among which are: red mangrove (Rhozophora mangle), which is the most abundant; black mangrove or Buttonwood (Conocarpues erectus); white mangrove (Angucario racemosa); yellow mangrove (Rizofora harissonii) and salt mother (Avicennia germinans). Tulares also large areas with species like cattail (Typha dominguenesìs) and Scirpus sp Cyperrus validus. As it is common in the understory fern, the piñuela and lily, platanillo and sp Heliconia species, among others. Fauna Highlights over 90 species of migratory birds such as teal blue, white pelicans, magnificent frigate, the sanquilargo , among others; as well as rare birds that use the area as a nesting site, among which the roseate spoonbill, heron and candida cigleñón. Aspects of Culture is considered Biosphere Reserve, covering an area of 144.868 hectares. It was issued on June 05, 1995. Mangrove up to 35 meters high, considered the highest in the Northern and Central America; varied flora and fauna. Services Restaurant Camping De Acapetahua are traveled 18 kms. Pier into Las Garzas; from where a boat is taken to go through the estuary about 30 minutes and up to the resort.
