Information
Although a site that is known from the early 40s., Is mentioned until 1993 with the official name of Tamtoc. Registration is done by the archaeologist Patricio Cabrera Dávila August 10, 1995 with information obtained by bibliography, photo interpretation and informants. Importance CulturalTamtoc is a settlement that meets the Huasteca about 70 structures characterized by its circular plant or with rounded corners. It highlights a central square surrounded by buildings like beaker and Tantoque, 36 and 21 meters respectively. The settlement planning, the use of timing and architecture are the Mesoamerican character of the society that built the place. The Huastecos are the only speaker of a language group of Mayan descent not lived in that region. Experts say that this language split from the original trunk towards the 900 a. C., while the first villages archeologically Huastecas have been dated to the period 1500-600 a. C. Chronology: 300-1100 d.C. Location main chronological: Late Postclassic 900-1100 d.
