Information
In 1909 the English travelers and Frederick Frost Channing Arnold visited the site and found a sculpture of which was interpreted as a noble character and from which derived the name of "The King." Cultural Significance King is one of the archaeological sites more Cancun important of the island. Although it originated as a small settlement in early times, it was not until the late Postclassic (1200-1550 AD) that reached its most important growth stage. According to research, it is believed that King, along with the nearby San Miguelito, formed the core area of a town dedicated to maritime trade and fishing activities. The archaeological excavations carried out at the site have made it possible that today they can visited many of the structures aligned along the main road and two small squares. The archaeological site is located at kilometer 18 of the Boulevard Kukulcan in the Hotel Zone of the Cd. Of Cancun, 10 kilometers south of the center. Visitors can reach the site by public transport. Services available in the office, toilets and seating area.
