Information
At the end of the viceregal one vintner ranch called "Boca de Potrerillos" which gave its name to the archaeological site. It was built Cultural Significance Boca de Potrerillos the only presidential declaration rock area in northeastern Mexico for its important archaeological data and thousands of rocks with petroglyphs that preserve the memory of the ancient inhabitants of the state. The analysis of the material remains has allowed us to recognize that the native inhabitants survived for more than eight thousand years of hunting, fishing and gathering, so the recorded images are related to worship and respect for nature and phenomena such as rain and the sun and the life cycles of plants and animals, and should be developed as part of a ceremony or ritual, wards of the shaman or specialist group to form a consensus that no member would dare to question. Thus the representation of hands, feet and human bodies; antlers and deer tracks; silhouette of artifacts as the atlatl, projectile points, knives and rippers; and the representation of plants such as peyote, had performed during celebrations devoted to hunting, hazing, changes in leadership and other transcendental aspects within the indigenous world of the region.
