Information
Locally it is known as "The Toriles" the name of the land on which it is located. Similarly, the site is registered with the Department of Public Registry of Monuments and Archaeological Areas under the name "The Toriles." Cultural Importance is unique in its kind for having one of the few circular buildings called Mesoamerican area. Is one of the nodal points of the "tradition of the shaft tombs" that developed between 200 BC and 600 AD In that sense, evidence possibly one of the main points of contact between the Americas, north and south. During the so-called Epi and Mesoamerican Postclassic periods, this urban settlement is the main axis of the "Ruta del Cobre" which by way of the Pacific coast, informs the American Southwest today called the regions of central and southern Mesoamerica. It extends over large equipped terraces taking advantage of the terrain slopes, forming at least fourteen architectural ensembles around broad plazas surrounded mainly rectangular bases, for a total of 93 mounds distributed over just over eighty hectares.
