Information
The archaeological site takes its name from its proximity to the municipal seat of Los Reyes La Paz, according to ceramics, found at the scene. There are at least three construction phases corresponding to Post Early, Middle and Late, and likewise can be divided into: Phase Mezapa 800-1100 AD). As background to the site there was a settlement during the Coyotlatenco phase (600-800 AD). At Tula arise as a hegemonic center of the plateau, these settlements were abandoned, and the population relocated to new places like Los Reyes. During the Aztec phase II (1200-1430 AD) to the arrival of Chichimecas to Mexico Basin tribes reoccupied abandoned at the end of the Toltec period, including the case of Los Reyes places. In Aztec phase III (1430-1521 d. C) due to the territorial expansion under confederations is very likely that the site of the Kings was under the hegemony of Chimalhuacán, tax Texcoco region, Acolhuacan metropolis. The pyramid observed in the archaeological site belongs to this stage.
