Chimalhuacán means "Place of those shields", referring to Chimalhuaque cone, shaped like inverted shield. Thus, in the heart of Chimalhuacán this archaeological site is called "The Pochotes" referring to the bushes that grow only here.

Going on the road Ignacio Zaragoza, take the Mexico-Texcoco federal highway until you reach the turnoff to Chimalhuacán. Services at the archaeological site Chimalhuacán Guided tours by appointment with the INAH Mexico State Center.
