The archaeological site is named after the ancient land located in Rancho El Grillo. Cultural Significance This area is located within the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Zapopan. The importance of this is their structures are a typical example of earthen architecture in the Late Classic Atemajac Valley, as well as by a large number of graves of rectangular box found in the neighboring fractionation Tabachines, which are dated to between 500-800 d. C. The findings at El Grillo led to define a chronological phase Atemajac Valley: Phase El Grillo, after Phase Tabachines with shaft tomb tradition. Chronology: 500 d. C. 900 d.

Get There
On the peripheral area to the north, exit at Zacatecas, after spending Pino Suarez Avenue, south side you can see a huge property protected with wire mesh next to the University TEC Millennium Zapopan, that property is the area The archaeological Grillo in San Ignacio Colony Villas. Access is by the street Gral. Juan Dominguez, and should take a gap of no more than 30 meters to park the vehicle. Visitors can reach the site by public transport.
