Information
Cuicuilco word means "place where songs and dances are done." Cultural Significance Cuicuilco archaeological zone is located southeast of the Basin of Mexico, in the current delegation of Tlalpan. Although the visiting area is limited to the space where the Great Pyramid Circular (Cuicuilco A), the area also includes the area called Cuicuilco B, and the Palace, located near and within the Olympic Village Housing Unit; the circular mound of Peña Pobre, within the current Ecological Park and Tenantongo pyramid on top Tlalpan Forest. Cuicuilco is located in the proto-urban stage of Mesoamerican societies, ie prior to the full development of settlements, a phenomenon that would be represented by the emergence of the city of Teotihuacan in northern Mexico Basin moment. Get There
The entrance to the main sector of the archaeological site is located on Av. Insurgentes Sur, at the height of the dwelling unit Olympic Village. Visitors can reach the site by public transport such as the Perisur METROBUS or Villa Olimpica station (the latter being more about), however, it must walk to the entrance of the site. Services available in the Museum site , guided in Spanish by appointment, health, hiking trails through the vegetation of the area, parking and information booth. All services are free.
