Tohkok means in Mayan "true measure" (toh-true / K'ok'-measure) or "Nightingale True" (kok-nightingale). The name of the archaeological site could allude to brown blackbird (clay-colored thrush) small olive brown bird plumage, belly ocher or light brown and melodious trill.Apparently, the place name is not very old. Cultural Significance small site from the Classic period, protected by locals. Since the road is visible a housing structure Puuc stylistic influence, with some Chenes elements. You can visit only part of the structure, which remains of vaulted rooms and round columns are observed.

Tohcok is only six kilometers west of Hopelchén, on the paved road to Campeche-Hopelchén (Federal Highway No . 261), near the deviation leading to the town of San Juan Bautista Sacabchén, in east-central part of the state of Campeche.
