Until recent years the locals referred to the site as the Cueva del Indio, but when they began to find more sets with paintings, a kind of valley, to start archaeological explorations began using this name to refer to the entire site and so it prevailed designation.

Get There
To reach the site Federal Highway No. 2 (Tijuana-Mexicali) is taken, turning off at the junction of 73.5 kilometers, heading north, up to the Restaurant El Chipo. Crossing the bridge of Highway No. 2D, starts a dirt that just over a kilometer later leads to access the site. It can also be accessed by Highway No. 2D (Tijuana-Mexicali), taking the same dirt road leading to access.Cultural Significance Located at 1,300 meters above sea level, and over 23 sets of paintings and petroglyphs in which human figures are schematic and geometric style of called La Rumorosa, the archaeological site "El Vallecito" is located. In the area there is still a pine grove in summer it was exploited by Kumiai in the region, however, the wealth of forests of pine goes further, since it is in a transition zone with vegetation of chaparral and north with typical desert vegetation, which gave them a considerable amount of food to its former inhabitants. This food must have been enough that during that time many families gather and carry out celebrations, exchanges and magical-religious rituals. Of the 23 sets with paintings and petroglyphs are only five are open to the public, they are visited on a tour in a thematic path about 2 kilometers, these are visited in the following order: Set Shark, Set Solstice or Diablito, set Rooted Man, La Cueva del Indio and all the Solecitos or Wittinñur.
